Maybury Artist - Arran Lomax

Arran with his custom made Maybury Chuck Bass

Arran Lomax is the dynamic bassist from “Call Me Amour”, a trailblazing, high-energy 4-piece rock band that fuses raw rock power with cutting-edge electronic elements. As the band takes the UK and Europe by storm with their electrifying tour, Lomax’s performance leaves an unforgettable impact.

Inspired by legends like Duff McKagan, John Deacon, Chris Wolstenholme, Phil Lynott, and Steve Harris, Lomax’s bass playing is a blend of classic influence and modern innovation.

After encountering other musicians who wielded Maybury instruments, Lomax knew it was only a matter of time before he joined the exclusive club, commissioning his own custom Maybury bass.

The instrument he commissioned is based on the iconic Maybury Chuck Bass, featuring reclaimed Spruce paired with a Cherry and Oak neck. Its custom Mojo Thunderbird pickups deliver a punchy, crisp output, ensuring every note is defined with precision and energy.

Arran says “I was previously in a group called Bastette, who gigged in similar circles to Kit Trigg and The hot damn, so I'd seen their guitars being posted about and thought they looked amazing.

The small builder touch, eco viewpoints and care from Maybury were great highlights throughout the build process.

My role within the group is not as such to hold sheer low end as we have a lot of synths working in those spaces, however to be incredibly precise and driving with the bass, and this thing fits the bill great.”
